Library
The public is invited to
attend "The Scapegoating of
Al Capone" with Johnathan
Eig, best-selling author of
"Get Capone." The original
1933 movie, "Scarface," will
be shown after the lecture
from 7:45 - 9:45pm.

One Week Checkout for
Movies
Commencing February 1st,
all DVDs and Blu-Rays except new releases will be checked out for one
week (with the option to renew). New releases will continue to check out
for 3 days.

Languages
Interested
in learning a new language? Green Hills Public Library now offers Mango
Languages, an online language-learning system that can help you learn
languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, German,
Mandarin Chinese, Greek, Italian, Russian and more. This new service is
available to Green Hills Public Library patrons.

Freading
We now offer another eBook
service for your eReader device. Freading allows you to download
eBooks for free onto your eReader device. With over 20,000 titles
from 16 publishers to choose from, this service is available to every
major eReader device except the Kindle. It is very easy to
download and read eBooks. Titles checkout for 2 weeks and there
are never any overdue fines! You can access the Freading website
at
www.greenhills.freading.com.

The winter newsletter has been mailed. Get a
copy HERE! All
programs require registration. Register for the programs at the
information or youth services desk. You can even register by phone

The Library has 6 preloaded Kindles and 4 preloaded Nooks for circulation. Each Kindle
has an assortment of adult fiction and nonfiction titles. Each
Nook has an assortment of young adult and juvenile fiction titles. Ask at the Circulation Desk or

We are pleased to announce that you can download
best-selling and classic audiobooks, eBooks, music, and video, anytime,
anywhere. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending
period. There are no late fees! You can download best-selling novels,

Freegal Music
Freegal is a downloadable music
service from your library. All you need is your library card number and
your PIN. With access to the Sony Music
Entertainment catalog, it offers hundreds of thousands of songs, over
100 genres of music, and more than 50 record labels, all without having
to download software or have any digital rights management (DRM) issues

State Legislators in
Your Neighborhood!
State Senator Ed Maloney (18th
Illinois Senate District) and State Representative Bill Cunningham (35th
Illinois House District) will be providing constituent outreach services at the
Green Hills Public Library District beginning Monday, March 28th.
Hours will be Monday-Thursday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Appointments are recommended but walk-ins are fine. The number is

Paper Retriever Program
Recycling is one of the
simplest things you can do to reduce waste and conserve resources.
Look for the green and yellow bin on the North side of the
building. There you can deposit all your household paper:
newspapers, catalogs, magazines, old mail and school/office papers.
Not only does this benefit our planet as a whole, but the Library as
well!
