Adult Services

Homebound Delivery Service
Are you homebound?  Are you unable to get to the Library?  This program provides free delivery and pick-up of library materials to homebound patrons.  This service is available to patrons residing in Palos Hills or Hickory Hills who are unable to get to the library due to temporary or permanent illness, physical handicap, homebound seniors, and those living in nursing homes or assisted living facilities within the district boundaries.  Many different library materials are available such as books (regular and large print), magazines, books on CD, music CDs, and nonfiction DVDs.  If you or someone you know can benefit from this service, please call the Library at (708) 598-8446 ext. 120 or pick up an application at the Information Desk.

Computer Training
Lost in the digital age?  Need computer assistance?  Our friendly staff will help you feel comfortable with new technology.  Whether you are just starting and need all the basics or have some knowledge but want to learn more, our staff is available for one-on-one appointments.  Please contact Dan Walko at (708) 598-8446 ext. 116 if you have questions or would like to set up an appointment.

Volunteer Opportunities
Adults have the option of being a part of the Library's Adopt A Shelf Program or volunteering in the Friends of the Library Bookstore.  All volunteers may be given such tasks as shelf-reading, straightening of shelves, making sure movies are in order, etc.  If you would like more information on how to get started as a volunteer, please call the Information Desk at (7008) 598-8446 ext. 120.
